Finca Juan Martin is an innovative and experimental farm owned and operated by Banexport. The goal and focus of this project are to cultivate, harvest, and process different varieties in order to develop appropriate practices for each step toward optimum coffee quality. Beyond this, Juan Martin serves as a resource and example for coffee producers that sell and export their coffees through Banexport. Located in the highest area of Sotara, just 30 minutes from Cauca's capital of Popayan, Juan Martin is dedicated to developing environmentally-conscious practices as well as providing jobs to community members along with educational opportunities.
Various maintenance tasks are carried out at Juan Martín Farm: soil conservation is done because of the steep slope of the farm; undergrowth is allowed to grow to avoid erosion; evaluations are made on coffee crops to identify pests or diseases and eliminate them; the surface of the tree is cleaned every 75 days and coffee the space between rows is cleared with a scythe every 2 months.
In general, coffees here are cultivated, harvested, and processed while adhering to the highest standards of quality, organization, and control depending on the ambient conditions as well as the specific needs required by each variety as determined by various factors including Brix level, moisture content, and desired cup characteristics.
This wonderful selection is comprised of the rare and unique Sidra variety and was dried with the cherry intact giving this coffee a candy like sweetness and deep berry and fruit tones. This is one of the more unique and delicious coffees we will have this year, designed for those with an adventurous palate and open mind!
We ship freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday via UPS ground. Most orders placed before 2pm EST will ship same day.
Delayed, Lost or Stolen Packages
We will do our best to help troubleshoot with you, but we
cannot control what happens when your package leaves the roasting
facility. Once the package has been picked up, it is out of our hands.
Holidays, severe weather, carrier staff shortage and high package volumes are causing delays in package transit time.
As a small business, we are unable to absorb the costs of
packages being lost in transit. We cannot refund orders that are marked
as delivered with a tracking number, even if a customer is stating they
haven’t received the package.
For UPS claims, please email us at georgio@georgioscoffee.com
When checking out, *Please make sure your address is correct!*
In order to balance getting your coffee out to
you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as
ordered within one week of the roast date. We typically roast
Wednesdays and Fridays.
In our experience most coffees
taste best after a few days rest, and high quality coffees stay at peak
flavor up to six weeks post roast.
