This coffee from Palanda, Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador is brought to you by coffee producers Luis Alvarez, Keimer Troya, and Harvey Merino. They are part of the APECAP Association and their farms sit at an elevation of around 1,600 m.a.s.l, with an average size of 3.5 hectares. They are part of the “Clean Production Territories” of Palanda.
This lot is comprised of the highly sought after Typica Mejorado. Their harvest period is between August and September and they all follow a very similar fermentation and drying process: de-pulped and then dry fermented for 24 hours, followed by 10-12 days of drying, depending on the weather.
Zamora-Chinchipe, in Ecuador, is regarded as one of the top coffee-growing regions in the country, and their regional “Cooperative”, Fapecafes, is known to promote coffee-growing amongst the youth. That is how “Bracamoros Coffee Competition” came to be: a regional specialty coffee contest, from young producers between 25 and 35 years old. We are excited to be supporting young coffee farmers who focus on quality and want to keep evolving coffee farming into the future.
This lot showcases the sweetness that the Typica Mejorado variety is known for with notes of honey and toffee in the cup. It is extremely smooth and balanced with a medium body. This is a coffee we find you'll want to drink everyday. It tastes great across a variety of brew methods and with or without milk and sugar. Don't miss out on your chance to try this special coffee today!
