Finca Senda Salvaje is a small family farm near Caranavi, Bolivia. Owned and operated by Carmelo Yujra and Deysi Ramos, the farm has been producing excellent quality coffee for over a decade. Carmelo has been collaborating with neighboring producers and experimenting with new fermentation processes to enhance the local terroir. The results are a sweet, delicate yet structured cup with honey, floral, and fruit. Senda Selvaje (Wild Road) was named for the wild animals that roam the farm. The family's goal is to produce coffee in a way that is environmentally aware and friendly to the local animals. The farm's dark, nutrient rich soil produces strikingly unique flavors. After picking the cherries and de-pulping, the coffee goes into a fermentation tank for about 20 hours. They then wash the coffee and put it in the tank again for another 48 hours. They change the water in the tank 3 times a day. After that secondary fermentation and washing the coffee is dried carefully on raised beds to its desired moisture level before resting and hulling for shipment. This is a take on the famous Kenyan style washed process that results a clean sparkling cup while also using less water than the traditional washed process methods. Their attention to detail from start to finish shows in this amazing, washed Geisha lot, bursting with citrus and floral notes reminiscent of the best Panamanian Geishas we've encountered.
We ship freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday via UPS ground. Most orders placed before 2pm EST will ship same day.
Delayed, Lost or Stolen Packages
We will do our best to help troubleshoot with you, but we
cannot control what happens when your package leaves the roasting
facility. Once the package has been picked up, it is out of our hands.
Holidays, severe weather, carrier staff shortage and high package volumes are causing delays in package transit time.
As a small business, we are unable to absorb the costs of
packages being lost in transit. We cannot refund orders that are marked
as delivered with a tracking number, even if a customer is stating they
haven’t received the package.
For UPS claims, please email us at georgio@georgioscoffee.com
When checking out, *Please make sure your address is correct!*
In order to balance getting your coffee out to
you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as
ordered within one week of the roast date. We typically roast
Wednesdays and Fridays.
In our experience most coffees
taste best after a few days rest, and high quality coffees stay at peak
flavor up to six weeks post roast.
