Finca La Esperanza is located in the municipality of Mozonte, in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua and is managed by Luis Alberto Balladarez and his family.  The farm consists of 53 hectares of coffee and forest and sits at an average elevation of 1,600 m.a.s.l. Here they grow Caturra, Paraiso, Catuai Rojo, Bourbon and SL34 varieties. Bourbon is actually a variety which is a cross of Sarchimore and Yellow Catuai, but retained the name as it was colloquially known in Nicaragua. It’s actually a variety that was developed in Brazil. In fact, originally they thought they had SL-28, but it wasn’t until genetic testing, that it revealed itself to be SL-34 (colloquially they know the variety as “Afrikans”.)
The care and processing that goes into every lot is second to none, with careful detail at every stage. This lot starts by bringing the cherries to the wet mill after careful picking. They are then floated and de-pulped and immediately taken to Beneficio Las Segovias to be laid on African Beds to dry for 21 to 25 days. For the Naturals, the coffee also undergoes careful picking, is then floated then taken to Beneficio Las Segovias to be laid on African beds to dry for between 25-30 days.
This is a wonderful fruit forward juicy coffee that's easy to brew and easy to drink.  For those on the adventurous side it also makes a fun single origin espresso.  We have been gulping this down by the gallon since we started sample roasting it and have decided we should start selling it before we drink it all! We hope everyone enjoys this one as much as we do.

We ship freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday via UPS ground. Most orders placed before 2pm EST will ship same day.

Delayed, Lost or Stolen Packages

We will do our best to help troubleshoot with you, but we
cannot control what happens when your package leaves the roasting
facility. Once the package has been picked up, it is out of our hands.

Holidays, severe weather, carrier staff shortage and high package volumes are causing delays in package transit time.

As a small business, we are unable to absorb the costs of
packages being lost in transit. We cannot refund orders that are marked
as delivered with a tracking number, even if a customer is stating they
haven’t received the package.

For UPS claims, please email us at georgio@georgioscoffee.com

When checking out, *Please make sure your address is correct!*

In order to balance getting your coffee out to
you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as
ordered within one week of the roast date. We typically roast
Wednesdays and Fridays.

In our experience most coffees
taste best after a few days rest, and high quality coffees stay at peak
flavor up to six weeks post roast.
