This is our fourth year buying coffee from the Long Miles Coffee Project in Burundi.  Long Miles Coffee Project, started by Ben and Kristy Carlson, creates traceable micro-lots that yield consistently great coffees while improving the livelihoods of the small holding farmers who grow them. They offer year-long agricultural assistance to farmers as well as paying premiums for high quality cherry.  Their practices allow us to purchase these coffees year after year with predictable excellent quality.  This year's selections are no exception and offer clean bright and sweet flavors with a unique intensity that only coffees from Burundi offer.
Ninga Hill, located in Muramvya Province, Burundi, is known for producing complex and elegant coffees. The Ninga Washing Station processes coffee using its own water source. In the fully washed process, cherries are floated, hand-sorted, pulped, and dry-fermented for twelve hours. The parchment is footed to remove mucilage, rinsed, soaked, and pre-dried on covered tables for six to forty-eight hours. It then slow dries on African raised tables for sixteen to twenty days until reaching 10.5% moisture.
Despite decades of conflict and neglect, Ninga Hill farmers have continued to produce remarkable coffees. The Ninga Washing Station, established to support these farmers, has yielded stunning coffees over the past few harvest seasons. The farmers' perseverance and the station's dedication result in phenomenal coffees that are known to be complex.

We ship freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday via UPS ground. Most orders placed before 2pm EST will ship same day.

Delayed, Lost or Stolen Packages

We will do our best to help troubleshoot with you, but we
cannot control what happens when your package leaves the roasting
facility. Once the package has been picked up, it is out of our hands.

Holidays, severe weather, carrier staff shortage and high package volumes are causing delays in package transit time.

As a small business, we are unable to absorb the costs of
packages being lost in transit. We cannot refund orders that are marked
as delivered with a tracking number, even if a customer is stating they
haven’t received the package.

For UPS claims, please email us at georgio@georgioscoffee.com

When checking out, *Please make sure your address is correct!*

In order to balance getting your coffee out to
you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as
ordered within one week of the roast date. We typically roast
Wednesdays and Fridays.

In our experience most coffees
taste best after a few days rest, and high quality coffees stay at peak
flavor up to six weeks post roast.
