Finca La Concepción is located in Buesaco, Nariño and is run by Ana Lucia Dulce.  It has been in the family for generations and the house that sits on the property is over 100 years old, with some of the original construction still intact! Seventy hectares, with 14 in coffee, is an extremely large farm for a producer in Nariño. Farms of this size tend to focus more on quantity than on quality however Ana Lucia decided that she wanted to transition to specialty and focus on producing the best quality. She started by doing trainings with the pickers for selecting only ripe cherries and experimenting with different recipes in the wet mill. Upon implementing these changes and experimenting with a few different batches, she converted essentially to specialty overnight…. it was quite impressive! Convinced and committed, after the first year, she built a huge parabolic dryer, allowing her to slowly dry the coffee on raised African beds and produce more of her harvest as specialty.
This lot is a caturra variety and is fully washed. It offers a super sweet yet approachable cup with notes of orange, caramel and brown sugars.  We roasted this to a medium light level emphasizing the deep sweetness that this coffee has to offer while toning down the acidity just a touch compared to our lighter profiles.  We love the balance that this produced and think this is a coffee that truly has something for everyone.

We ship freshly roasted coffee Monday through Friday via UPS ground. Most orders placed before 2pm EST will ship same day.

Delayed, Lost or Stolen Packages

We will do our best to help troubleshoot with you, but we
cannot control what happens when your package leaves the roasting
facility. Once the package has been picked up, it is out of our hands.

Holidays, severe weather, carrier staff shortage and high package volumes are causing delays in package transit time.

As a small business, we are unable to absorb the costs of
packages being lost in transit. We cannot refund orders that are marked
as delivered with a tracking number, even if a customer is stating they
haven’t received the package.

For UPS claims, please email us at georgio@georgioscoffee.com

When checking out, *Please make sure your address is correct!*

In order to balance getting your coffee out to
you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as
ordered within one week of the roast date. We typically roast
Wednesdays and Fridays.

In our experience most coffees
taste best after a few days rest, and high quality coffees stay at peak
flavor up to six weeks post roast.
