The Keramo Adara station sits at the highest elevation in the entire Daye Bensa network, deep in the Bombe mountains of Bensa, Sidama. The region's cool, humid climate, consistent rainfall, and rich soil make it ideal for growing high-quality coffee, and slow cherry maturation at altitude leads to exceptional density and complex flavor development.
The natural Keramo Adara is dried on African beds with clean plastic mesh and sheeting for around 14 to 18 days, a careful process that preserves the station's signature winey, fruit-forward character. The result is an intense, expressive cup — ripe and sweet with a long finish.
Around 381 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to the Keramo Adara station, supported by Daye Bensa's network of training, resources, and quality control. The station has earned Daye Bensa prestigious Cup of Excellence awards in 2020, 2021, and 2022, making it one of the most consistently decorated washing stations in Ethiopia.
In order to balance getting your coffee out to you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as ordered within one week of the roast date.
In our experience most coffees taste best after at least a few days' rest, and high-quality coffees stay at peak flavor up to six weeks post roast.
