From the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya, Kiamugumo AB brings together vivid fruit, refined sweetness, and the hallmark clarity of Kirinyaga coffees.
Smallholder producers deliver ripe cherries to the Kiamugumo Factory, where meticulous washed processing transforms their harvest into a cup defined by crisp acidity and layered complexity.
Kenya Kiamugumo AB is produced in the Kirinyaga region, on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya. Known for its rich volcanic soil, cool climate, and abundant rainfall, this area consistently yields coffees of striking brightness and depth. The Kiamugumo Factory, part of the New Ngariama Farmers’ Cooperative Society, serves hundreds of smallholder farmers, many tending just a few hundred trees on plots passed down through generations.
The “AB” grade denotes bean size slightly smaller than AA, yet no less expressive in the cup. Here, farmers handpick ripe cherries that are then sorted, fermented, washed, and dried slowly on raised beds. This process amplifies the lively acidity and juicy clarity that Kenyan coffees are celebrated for.

What sets Kiamugumo apart is the collective commitment of the cooperative. Beyond processing, the factory provides training, quality support, and transparency, while also investing in local infrastructure. Each cup reflects the union of high-altitude terroir, generational farming knowledge, and the cooperative model that defines Kenya’s coffee landscape.
In the cup we find a bright and juicy acidity offering a pleasing amount of tartness along with a unique savory character.

In order to balance getting your coffee out to you as quickly as possible with freshness of roast we ship all coffee as ordered within one week of the roast date.

In our experience most coffees taste best after at least a few days' rest, and high-quality coffees stay at peak flavor up to six weeks post roast.
